Creative Keyboard Club October 2017 Meeting

Marlene Forrest was MC for the occasion and the arrival music was played by Rob Powell on clavinova.
Program ...
George Markwick on his korg keyboard with 'By The Light of The Silvery Moon' and 'Send Me The Pillow That You Dream On'
Ora Lefebvre sang 'Night and Day' a capella
Allan Powell on his Yamaha keyboard with 'Hey Jude' and 'Roll Out The Barrell'
Denise Gunson on clavinova with 'Tenderly' and 'Moonlight Serenade'
Mary Barrett finished off the first half with 'Whistling Rufus' and the theme to 'Picnic' (from the movie of the same name and coupled with 'Moonglow')

Our guest today was Joe Fingers (pianos, keyboard, vocals) accompanied by Murray Merssen (Clarinet and Sax). Joe started as always with the 'William Tell Overture'. This duo performed many old favourites including 'Johnstone Rag' (3 keyboards + clarinet), 'Where The River Shannon Flows', 'Hold Me', 'Stranger On The Shore', a unique rendition of 'Nola', 'Where or When', some Mozart, an Irish medley (complete with tin whistle), some Dixieland and ended with 'My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean' and 'I Wonder Who's Kissing Her Now'. Tributes to the late great Colin Meads (to the tune of 'My Old Man's a Dustman') and to the Black Ferns (to the tune of 'Rhinestone Cowboy') were both written and performed by Joe. A very lively and entertaining afternoon. Thank you All.
