Creative Keyboard Club May 2014 Meeting

Marlene Forrest was our MC for the occasion and the arrival music was played by Diane Lyons on keyboard. This was a 'Do It Yourself' day with our members playing the entire program.

First up was John Beale on his Korg PA500 playing 'Another Somebody' and 'Anema E Core'. Robin Brown on Clavinova with 'Edelweiss' and 'Polish Dance' (unfortunately nerves do get to the best of us Robin and we hope you can play again for us). Michael Bramley played 'Cavatina' and 'Singing In The Rain' on his new Korg PA X. George Markwick was next with 'Your Cheating Heart' and 'Three Coins in a Fountain' on his Korg PA800. Noni Walker and Marlene Forrest dueted on Clavinova and keyboard with 'Unforgetable' and 'Moonlight Serenade'. The very talented Eve Chen sang 'You Raise Me Up' accompanied by equally talented daughter Jessica on piano accordion. Peter Littlejohn finished our first half with 'All Creatures Great and Small' and 'Titanic' on Clavinova.

Our second half started with Mary Barrett on George's Korg playing 'Canadian Sunset' and the toe tapper 'Tipperary'. Peter Jackson on his Yamaha keyboard played 'Do You Know The way To San Hose' and 'My Favourite Things'. Diane Lyons joined us again with 'Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer', 'Goodie Goodie' and 'Danny Boy'. Rob and Barbara Powell dueted on piano and keyboard with 'Play A Simple Melody' and 'Birth of The Blues'. Barbara McNab concluded with 'Blame It On The Bossanova' and 'Down Town Strutters Ball' on Tyros.

We Thank all our performers for sharing with us and making it such a fun afternoon

Creative Keyboard Club April 2014 Meeting

Creative Keyboard Club April 2014 Meeting

MC was once again Marlene Forrest (she makes a wonderful MC) and the arrival music was played by Sue Bain on Clavinova. It was Sue's first time playing at the club and she did very well. The AGM then followed with all officers re-elected.

First up for the afternoons entertainment was Roy Steen on keyboard with 'Hava Nagila' and the 'Stars and Stripes Forever' march. Ian Jackson on clavinova with 'Night and Day' and 'September Song'. Roz Biset played 'Misty' and 'Autumn Leaves' on keyboard and Dave Hallam followed with 'I'm Confessing' and 'Try a Little Tenderness' on clavinova. Well played and Thank You to everyone.

Club member, pianist Denise Gunson was our guest artiste. It was lovely to get some background to her artistry and life story with songs that had a special meaning to her. Well played Denise, something a little different and much appreciated, thank you.
