February 2011 Meeting

 February 2011Meeting
Our first Club of the Year go off to a great start with Jimmy Puppyn playing for the first time the arrival music. Good one Jimmy and a big  thank you.
The program got away with Colin Crann playing “ Come Fly with Me” and “Fooling Myself” .
Colin also came back a little later to play a nice rendition of “ Ain’t Necessarily So”
Len Osborne entertained next on his Keyboard with “ Maggie” and “ Whispering”
Ken Mahy was third with “ The Way We Were” and “ What a Wonderful World”
Gordon Sutherland play two of my favorite pieces that he plays “ Besame Mueso” and “ Morning In Cornwall”
And last but definitely very enjoyable came Allan Dadson with “ Scene D’Amour” and “ Michelle”.
Afternoon tea follow which seemed to create a lot of noise with all the friendly chatter!
Murray Hancox then set up the Yamaha Tyros 4 that he had bought with him and the second half got underway. Though it was a very very hot afternoon, no one minded at all as Murray was in fine form!
He started with “ Cavatina” and wonderful tunes followed:
Whiter Shade of Pale,         Call Me,     Cherish,  Unchain My Heart
Darktown Strutters Ball (lot of fun with this one)
Californa  Dreaming,          Georgia (with a little help from Dave)
Have I told you lately that I love you,      Winchester Cathedral, and  Day Dream Believer
We look forward to Murray gracing our door again soon!
