Our guest artist today was Jim Joll (guitar, vocals). Jim played a little bit of everything including 'Ring of Fire', 'That Summer Wind', 'Walking Back To You', 'Good Luck Charm', 'Love Letters In The Sand', 'Guitar Boogie', 'Somedays', 'The Gambler', 'King of The Road', 'Cavatina', 'A Teenager In Love', 'Sweet Caroline'. A lot of audience participation, some anecdotes and very much appreciated Jim.

Creative Keyboard Club Day June 2020

Our first meeting post lockdown. Marlene Forrest was the MC for the occasion and the arrival music was played on keyboard by Rob Powell.
There was a brief AGM and update prior to the afternoon's program and Vince Keene was welcomed onto the committee.
Barbara Powell started us off with 'Speak Softly Love', 'Serenanata' and 'Blue Hawaii' on keyboard
Hana Tani was next on piano with 'Sonata in G Major Op 14 No 1 Beethoven' and 'Intermezzo Op 118 No 2 Brahms'
Rob Powell was back with 'There I've Said It Again', 'Big Wide Wonderful World' and 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square'
Denise Gunson on clavinova with 'Always Look On The Bright Side of Life', 'The Summer Knows' (theme from Summer of  '42) and 'Almost Like Being in Love'
Our guests today were jazz pianist Bennie Gunn accompanied by Pete McGregor on double bass. Bennie played his Roland concert piano and delighted us with a great jazz selection including 'Lady Be Good', 'Just the Way You Are', 'Tenderly', 'I Get Along Without You Very Well', 'C Jam Blues', 'Taxi Theme', 'Tea for Two' and 'Misty'.

Our guest today was Sandy Lynch. Sandy played both our clavinova and her Tyros keyboard. Songs included "Our Love Is Here To Stay", "I Will Always Love You", "Dancing Queen", "Bewitched (Theme)", "Brown Eyed Girl", "Song For Guy", "Beauty and The Beast", "You Only Live Twice", "Belle of The Ball" (by request), "Mr Bojangles", "Diamonds are Forever" and "I Just Can't Stop Loving You". Wonderfully done Sandy.

Marlene Forrest started the new year off on her keyboard with "Etude" (Chopin), "Hey Jude" and "Mood Indigo"
Dorothy Waddell on clavinova with "We'll Gather Lilacs", "A Beautiful Lady in Blue" and "SiBonay"
Pam Rea on her keyboard with "When I Fall In Love", "Birth of The Blues" and "The Second Time Around"
Hugo Chou on clavinova with "Prelude G  Minor" (Rachmaninov)
Vince Keene on his keyboard with "We've Only Just Begun", "I Just Called to Say I Love You" and "Cry Me a River"
Murray McllWraith was our guest artist for the second half. Lots of favourites on clavinova including "Misty", "Moon River", a medley ("A Foggy Day", "Making Whoopee", "Days of Wine & Roses"), "Over The Rainbow", "A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square", "Ain't MisBehavin'", "All The Things You Are", "You're A Lady". Doesn't get much better than that.

Creative Keyboard Club December 2019 Meeting

The MC for the occasion was Marlene Forrest and the Christmas themed arrival music was played on keyboard by Mary Barrett. Santa was played by Dave Winslade.

Brian (guitar) and Denise Gunson (clavinova) played 'Amazing Grace', 'It's Starting To Look A Lot Like Christmas' with Brian doing a solo performance.
Hana Tani on clavinova with 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas', a Christmas Medley, and her faultless grand finale 'Fantasie Impromptu' (Chopin).
Mary Barrett on keyboard with a selection from The Proms (including and not limited to 'Rule Britannia', 'William Tell Overture', 'Toreador Song' (Carmen), 'Pomp & Circumstance March #1').
After a sumptuous afternoon tea the many Hampers were raffled.
The guest artiste today was very bubbly accordionist Tracy Collins who entertained with songs from Ireland, France and of course Christmas. Nothing like a good Tango to keep our feet tapping and terrific to see you again Tracy!
A massive Thank You to all our performers and the many helpers who make this such a great end to the year meeting. We wish you All a Very Merry Christmas and All Good Things for the New Year!
