Creative Keyboard Club February 2019 Meeting

Our President Marlene commenced as is custom for the first meeting of the year with a medley of 'Pennysivian Polka', 'Deep In The Heart of Texas' and 'I Want to be Happy' followed by 'This Could Be The Start of Something New!' on keyboard
Dave Winslade on keyboard with 'Stand By Me' and 'Amore' (with vocals)
Hugo Chou made his debut with 'Waltz In C# Minor (Chopin) on clavinova
Barbara McNab on keyboard with 'Cherry Pink & Apple Blossom White' and 'Shotgun'
Mary Barrett concluded the first half with 'The Lonely Shepherd' and '76 Trombones'
Our guest artist was piano accordionist and singer - the ever popular Lionel Reekie. Lionel played the pieces made popular on accordion from all around the world with great gusto … France, Spain, Portugal, America. Songs included 'Perfidia', 'Tequila', 'La Paloma', 'Sole Mio', 'Quando, Quando, Quando', 'Jealousy', 'Amore', 'I've Got You Under My Skin' and finished with 'My Way'. Vocals included on most and most enjoyable as always Lionel!

As was custom our Christmas Raffles were then drawn supervised by Santa. Many hampers and many happy people! Lovely Christmas cake and afternoon tea. Many Thankyou's to the Committee and all contributing members. Fab!
Our Guest artist was pianist and teacher Sandy Lynch. Sandy entertained on clavinova and her Tyros 2 with many or our favourites. Songs included 'The Entertainer', 'Jingle Bell Rock', 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year', 'Money, Money, Money', 'Runaway', 'Christmas Song' and concluded with 'Now Is The Hour'. Interesting beats appeared (not often used) Oriental Pop and some Greek inspired music. Most entertaining as always Sandy, we always look forward to hearing you.

Our guest this month, all the way from Kerikeri, was past member and club mentor Dave Hallam. Dave wooed us as usual on his Tyros 4 and our clavinova. Tunes included 'Do You Know The way to San Hose', 'Harlem Nocturne', 'Darktown Strutters Ball', 'Apache', 'Love Letters In The Sand', 'The Way You Look Tonight', 'Mack The Knife', 'Wheels', 'Take Ten', 'Tico Tico', 'New York, New York' , 'What a Wonderful World'. Much enjoyed Dave!

Creative Keyboard Club September 2018 Meeting
The arrival music was played by Rob Powell (via USB on the clavinova) and the MC was Marlene Forrest.
Our Program …
Our guest Chris Larking started the afternoon. Chris introduced several of his young pupils (pianoforte) and son Alex who played tenor sax ('Amazing Grace' with dad on clavinova).
It was great seeing the children getting their first taste of performing live and gaining confidence. Chris's songs included 'Edelweiss', 'Girl From Ipanema', 'Popcorn', 'Wind Beneath my Wings', 'Fly Me To The Moon', 'Wave'. Chris ended with a medley consisting of 'Song Of Joy', 'Rule Britannia', 'Waltzing Matilda', 'Advance Australia Fare' and our NZ National Anthem.
Our second guest today was Chloe Vaughen a very talented young singer and tap dancer. Chloe performed an 'Annie' medley of song and dance and later on in the afternoon returned with 'I'm Not That Girl' and 'Tennessee Waltz'
